Our organization would not exist without the dedication of our awesome coaches!
We are so blessed to have such a fine group of Christian men and women who are willing to invest their time and talents in the encouragement of our young athletes.

2020-2021 AUSTIN CHAMPIONS COACHES
CROSS COUNTRY / TRACK & FIELD
The Austin Champions began their inaugural season with the
2018 XC campaign by Coaches Joy and Jay Hilscher and Coach Sabrina Uriegas
The Hilscher family has been blessed with 7 children and has been closely involved with the team
for 10 years (with both graduated and current team members). We have had children who have been homeschooled, public schooled,
private schooled, and all other manner of schooling. The Hilschers attend Christ Church, a non-denominational Bible church in Cedar Park,
Coaches Joy & Jay were both high school distance running standouts, collegiate All-Americans in XC and Track, and continued competitive running for a bit after graduation. Now, they are co-race directors for The Texas Independence Relay. Though Joy and Jay enjoyed racing and competing, both will unreservedly say that relationships and lessons through running that they've had (and continue to receive) are truly a gift from Above.
Omar Hasan is the Soccer Program Director and High School Head Coach. He has a vision of building a competitive High School soccer program, that begins by teaching the fundamental skills and team work at the elementary and middle school level. By focusing on our mission and creating a strong supportive environment, we will build self-confidence and self-esteem at all ages. Coach Hasan has played soccer since age 6. He has a passion for soccer with both playing and coaching. Coach Hasan currently is the keeper for the Celtic Cowboys (Austin Coed Soccer Association), and has played in other adult leagues as well, for the Division 1 level. Coach Hasan has coached soccer for over 20 years at every level. He is married with 4 children(all of which play for the Champions) and has been in the Austin area for 8 years.
Coach Hasan is a Registered Nurse (11 years), and is currently in school to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. He was a police officer/detective in Maryland (12 years), and was in the United States Army Reserves (Honorable Discharge in 2004). He is an active leader in his church, which he helped plant 8 years ago upon moving to this area. Some of his other hobbies besides soccer include watching his favorite sports teams, playing the drums, and spending time with his family. Coach Hasan is also now a proud season pass holder for Austin's 1st professional sports franchise: Austin FC!
Throughout his playing career, Coach Hasan has had extensive experience playing every position in soccer. Coach Hasan is extremely excited to start the new season (2021) and to get back on the pitch.
